Happy Halloween!

Hello everyone and Happy Halloween! I am still growing like a weed and continuing to talk and smile so much that my parents can't keep their eyes and ears off me :) Enjoy the new pictures.

I have been baptized!!

Well, that is the biggest news in my life these days. I was baptized last weekend on 10/14/07. It was a very exciting day!! I did not cry even though the water got in my eyes when I was stretching!! My grandparents and Aunt Laura and Aunt Leah and Uncle Andy came for the weekend to celebrate!! We even had a party afterwards at my godparents Kip and Janice's house. This weekend we are headed to MN. My grandma will babysit me while everybody else goes to the Eagles-Vikings game at the metrodome.

Well, more later...mommy is calling me. I think it is time for my bath!!

New adventures

Today I am seven weeks old. How time flies!! Things never seem to slow down around here. I have met many more people. My aunt Leah and uncle Andy came from MN to visit. And I have had several of my parents' friends come hang out as well. I survived my first night with a babysitter (thanks Miss Julie). And I have visited my mommy's work twice now!! I visited the apple orchard and pumpkin patch for a little fall fun..check out the pictures.

I have been giving my parents a little trouble with colic, but they seem to be figuring out how to calm me down (wrapping me up like a burrito seems to work best). They keep talking about learning patience or something like that. I don't like to let them sleep for too long in one stretch. And I always seem to get hungry just as mom sits down to eat herself. I also seem to be experiencing my first cold...it's not easy to cry my little heart out when I am so hoarse! And a stuffy nose makes it a little harder to eat.I am now looking forward to my baptism on October 14th. Mommy and Daddy say to tell everyone hello!

Settling In

Well, I am now three and a half weeks old, and am just finally starting to figure out what this is all about. I have had many visitors. Many people came to meet me in the hospital.

My Grandma and Grandpa Skala were here for almost a week. My aunt Laura came for a weekend. My uncle Jake, aunt Diane, and cousins Trevor and Kenzie came from Nebraska for almost a week. Then I spent 4 days in Minnesota visiting my Grandma and Grandpa and aunt Laura again. I also got to meet my aunt Leah and uncle Andy. I met several other relatives and neighbors as well at another baby shower. I even got to spend some time with my Great Grandpa Skala--I am his 23rd great grandchild! He's a pretty special guy!

We also made a trip to the Minnesota State Fair for a day! Now we are finally back at home and things are settling into a recognizable routine. I eat every one and a half to three hours during the day and every three to six hours at nighttime. I like warm baths and my bouncy seat. I love it when mommy and daddy take me on walks or sing to me. I miss daddy when he goes to school, and mommy doesn't get much done because I want her to hold me all the time, but I don't think she minds.

The Baby Has Arrived!

Thank you for visiting my website. I entered this world on August 12th at 3:22pm (no way was I going to let them tell me when to come out...they wanted to "induce labor" the next day!). It is taking a little getting used to out in this big world, but I like to look around and discover. My mom and dad feel very fortunate to have such wonderful friends and family, all of whom have visited me or are planning on visiting soon. They will try to keep this website updated for me since I will be busy eating, sleeping, and making dirty diapers for them to clean up. Check back often for updated stories and pictures.

The Waiting Game

Well, we are now officially less than a week away from the baby's due date and nothing is happening yet. The nursery is ready. The bags are packed. Between a sore back and SI joint, peeing three times a night, and difficulty rolling over in bed, mama is certainly ready. And daddy is getting so impatient, he is practially begging the baby to come out. Nonetheless, it is not up to us; and the time, date, and circumstances of arrival are yet to be determined. We are getting very excited and anxious and can't wait to share the news!

One More Month

Well, we are quickly approaching the due date, with only one more month to go. There are a lot of emotions going on around here (mostly mom more than dad). We are both very excited, but I tend to get nervous and worried too. I guess you're never really ready, right? We are looking forward to meeting this little one. The suspense is really starting to build. The nursery is almost done. The bags are almost packed. We have had the hospital tour. We have had two baby showers with very generous friends, family, and coworkers. Now we're just trying to rest up and enjoy the last few weeks of life as we know it...a couple date nights, lots of rest, and being able to jump in the car to run a quick errand here and there. We will keep you updated.
