Since moving back to Minnesota, there have been so many friends I have said I wanted to reconnect with. But it's much harder when you have a family, young kids, work and daycare schedules to work around. It's different than coming home from college for Christmas vacation or a summer job. But we were finally able to meet up with one of my dearest friends from high school, Sarah Alme, at Minnehaha Falls Park in Minneapolis. It was a beautiful day, warm enough for a picnic outside and fun at the park, even though you could still see plenty of snow and ice in the shadows around the waterfall. What a pretty sight, and what an even prettier day to enjoy time catching up with an old friend.
This was also a special weekend because my cousin won the Division II College Wrestling Championship in his weight class. It was great because we got to watch it live on the computer, so our whole family was huddled around the computer during each stage of the tournament to watch the events and we got so excited when he won. Way to go Derek, we are so proud!
