We had gone to a game for the local minor league baseball team, the Kane County Cougars, earlier this summer and had heard that an upcoming game would be to celebrate the mascot, Ozzie the Cougar's, birthday. Since Conor's birthday was fast approaching, he is all about birthdays and kept saying that he wanted to go, so we got some of the tickets I can get through work. It was a rainy day, an evening game on a weeknight when I had to work later than expected, and Riley hadn't napped well that day so she and I stayed home. The weather cleared up, and it turned out to be a special and perfect father-son night for Adam and Conor. They really bonded over baseball and Conor got spoiled...again!
Happy Birthday Ozzie!!
Loving hanging out at a baseball game with Daddy.
Getting a bit warm and sweaty, but feeling good eating hot dogs and ice cream.
Go Cougars!
Running the bases after the game
Showing off all his loot...a new Cougars hat, a game ball thrown to him by one of the players, a squishy ball thrown to him by one of Ozzie's birthday guests (Skates, the Chicago Wolves mascot....oh, and Victor E. Huskie from NIU was there, too), a ball he brought along that was autographed by one of the players, and a promotional stuffed ball that was thrown out and caught by the lady next to Conor who gave it to him.
Post-game photo shoot (Daddy got a new hat too, because Conor pointed out that otherwise their hats didn't match!)
