Birthday Party

Conor's 2nd birthday party was held at his godparents' house, who graciously offered the use of their home and pool. Conor loves to swim, and for the 2nd time this summer, he was jumping off the diving board (I'm still trying to have enough patience to download the video, it takes forever).

More presents!!! Lucky little boy!!

Happy Birthday Conor! He loved his Cars cake and blew out the candle on the first try!

Some of his new gifts: rollerskates (don't worry, we have since bought a helmet and pads for all you orthopedic practitioners out there) and Mr. PotatoHead, he also got Tickle Me Elmo, Hokey Pokey Elmo, an Elmo book, and a basketball hoop!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Conor!

Conor thoroughly enjoyed his cupcake for his 2nd birthday after a special dinner with mom and dad and a great rendition of the birthday song.

National Night Out

There is a special event at the local park every August called National Night Out. Apparently it is a countrywide effort to get kids excited about safety and important groups in the community like police, fire, ambulance, military, etc. They have lots of vehicles to tour, games to play, and prizes (i.e. junk) to bring home.

Conor wanted to try out the ambulance bed.
He liked sitting on the back of the fire truck too.

He even got his own badge.

This better be the last time we see him in the back of a police car, especially with such a big smile on his face!

He looks better in the drivers seat, don't you think?

He wasn't so sure about meeting McGruff the Crime Dog.

He sure loved petting the horse of the mounted policeman.

Some Photos of Conor in the Last Month

I have been pointedly reminded that I have not updated the blog since our return from Ireland. We had a FABULOUS trip and Conor had a FABULOUS time with Grandma and Grandpa. We are finally settled back into a routine here...just in time for Adam to return to school next week and Conor back to daycare. In fact, they have a sort of daycare orientation at NIU tomorrow. We are really trying to make a big deal about it to get Conor excited for "school". Here are some pictures of his weeks home with Daddy...they have been having lots of fun and making lots of messes. I guess that's just what boys do :)

Conor got an early birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa!! He loves his frog etch-a-sketch!...and he loves opening presents too.
