Preschool Graduation

On June 5, 2012, Conor graduated from his PreKindergarten Preschool Program! He is both excited and nervous to start kindergarten this fall. We are so proud of you Conor.

Family photo...Can you tell that Riley wasn't feeling well? She was home with 102 degree fever all day (which kept her home for four days total, and Conor home for three and a half days the following week--nasty virus!!)

Proud grandparents were able to make it to the graduation too!

Conor's special teacher, Ms. Mary...he never leaves without giving her a hug.

Our new "pet"

The first night we all slept in our new house, we had water coming in the front window and found water on the concrete floor of the furnace room in the basement. Since then, we have found a few other issues which only remind us the "joys" of being a homeowner, however, Adam is so great at reminding me to be grateful that we have a roof over our heads and a place we can call our own. I'm glad he is so positive and optimistic because that is certainly not one of my strengths. Anyway, when we had someone come out and look at things, he discovered our first visitor....this little guy was camping out in our window well. The kids had fun watching him hop around in there until Adam rescued him and let him go.

Silliness

Riley found a pair of my fuzzy winter socks while I was unpacking and decided to put them on...they looked like big boots on her. This kid cracks me up!!

First night in our new rooms

Because of Adam's marathon, and the desperate need for painting and some mild cleaning as well, we didn't actually officially move into our house until Memorial Day weekend, 2 weeks after we bought it. Here are the kids sleeping in their new rooms the first night. Since then, we have struggled to keep them in their beds. For some reason, they both seem to like to sleep on the floor. For a while, they would wind up on the floor in our room halfway through the night, but we have at least gotten them back into their own rooms, now just to get them back to these positions in their beds! :)

Park

Some spring days at the park...we are trying to test out as many parks in our surrounding community as we can find until we can choose a favorite!!

Marathon #2

The next weekend was Adam's 2nd marathon in his trek to 50 marathons in 50 states, this time in Fargo, North Dakota. He improved his time by about a half hour...quite an accomplishment, which he attributes to better training and fewer injuries this time around. Despite menacing forecasts of rain and storms, the weather was perfect with cooler temps and it only rained on our drive in to the race. We were able to make an overnight trip out of it and left the kids home with Grandma and Grandpa--we are taking full advantage of having them close!

Night before the race...
Starting

Finishing

Crossing the finish line inside the stadium
Lots of people crowded inside the stadium to cheer the runners

I made a sign in reference to last year's awesome cheer I made in support of my husband: the first time he ran by me in the Twin Cities Marathon, I yelled "Way to Go Buddy"...not honey, not babe, not sweetheart, not even Adam. Nope, I called him Buddy. That's what I yelled. Now it is a longstanding joke between us that I don't think I'll ever live down. So.....nice run, Buddy! See you at the next one!

Twins

The day we closed on our house, Adam got some free Twins tickets from work for the evening game. What a fun way to celebrate a new chapter in our lives. We had great seats and a fun game. Love the outdoor Minnesota baseball stadium, a different atmosphere than the Metrodome we always went to when I was growing up.

Our New House

On May 10, we closed on our new house. As you can tell by my delayed posts, late spring and summer is a hectic time anyway, and I don't recommend it as a good time to move to a new house. We got all the essentials unpacked fairly quickly, but it has taken us some time to unpack the less important things, organize and even buy furniture. We have so many other things going on and would much rather be spending time outdoors than finding which shelf we want to put our flannel sheets and Christmas decorations on. But here is a picture of our new home. Pictures of the inside to come once we get it a little more cleaned and organized. But let me just say my parents have been super helpful. Mom painted almost every room and
Dad helped Adam install a dishwasher, garbage disposal, and bedroom fan among many other
handyman fixes. Hope to be ready to host some visitors soon.
